Historically, each year the RRWC raises money by holding our annual Holiday Home Tour. Profits from this event are distributed back into our community as gifts to area organizations/causes/projects. In 2020, the RRWC will not be holding the annual Holiday Home Tour due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are currently evaluating other fundraising opportunities for 2020.
We are so proud to announce the following recipients of our financial assistance for 2019 and 2020:
Rocky River United Methodist Nursery School: This will provide new equipment for our young 3s preschool program.
Rocky River Public Library: This will help provide a Charlie Cart, an all-in-one, hands-on food education and nutrition program for any learning environment. The library will be able to offer programs for all ages, from tween on up, that will encourage nutritional education and food preparation skills.
Kensington School Hot Lunch Program: This will help provide a weekly hot lunch option those children who are a part of our Assistance Program.
Rocky River Community Garden: This will help in building two new elevated garden boxes as well as help repair older garden boxes. The grant will also assist in adding more space to the garden.
Village Project: This will help to continue to provide nourishing meals and extended care to our neighbors who are experiencing a cancer crisis. Deliveries are complete with healthy non-perishable items, notes of encouragement, and handmade cards created by our youth.
Meals on Wheels: This will go towards providing the deliveries of up to 450 meals per week for the elderly, disabled, and those recovering from surgery/illness. They also provide non-perishable food for these populations as well.
Elle’s Enchanted Forest: This will go towards adding more inclusive playground equipment and adding items to support the theme of the Enchanted Forest. This playground will show children and adults that it is possible to play side by side with those that might be different.
RRMS PTA – Turf Project: This will kick start fundraising to raise capital to upgrade the field space at the Rocky River Middle School. The proposed project will benefit the Residents of Rocky River, by allowing the space to become a multi-seasonal outdoor space for the community and staff at the middle school.
RR Presbyterian Preschool: This will help provide sensory integration materials in the classroom. This use of the new tools will help meet the needs of all the children in our classes, specifically, those with sensory concerns.
Three scholarships will be granted to college-bound students.
