Holiday Home Tour
Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 11:00am to 4:00pm
After 17 years, the Women’s Club Holiday Home Tour is a Holiday tradition. Seven homeowners generously open up their beautifully decorated homes to inspire tour-goers creativity, to celebrate our city’s beautiful architecture, and to enjoy a day out with friends…all while raising money for scholarships, schools, and local charities. All profits from this event are disbursed back out to the Rocky River Community!
We are looking for people to hostess the day of the tour. The hostess job is broken up into 2 shifts, morning 10:45-1:30 and 1:30-4:15. You do not need to be a member to hostess AND you can request to hostess with a friend, parent or neighbor; just be sure to comment in the comments section who you would like to hostess with. You will get a FREE ticket to the Home Tour when you sign up! SIGN UP HERE http://vols.pt/wAxRMG email Lezley Zender with any questions: firstname.lastname@example.org

The All Aglow tree lighting ceremony is a wonderful way to kick off the Holiday Season with your neighbors and friends. Festivities begin at 6:00 p.m. on the lawn of City Hall with the lighting of the evergreens followed by a warm reception at the Senior Center. Enjoy hot chocolate, cookies, children’s crafts, carols sung by River’s Edge, and, of course, visits with Santa himself. Parents, make sure to bring your cameras!
The Women’s Club Sitting Pretty project is a fun way to celebrate the creativity of local artists while raising money for the community. These artists donated their time and talent to decorate Amish made wooden benches and Adirondack chairs. The benches and chairs are placed around Rocky River during the summer months for residents to enjoy, take a rest, or make a game of finding each one by using a downloadable map. At summer’s end a dinner is held and each item is auctioned off to the highest bidder!
In 2010, The Sitting Pretty project was brought back after a six year hiatus and all proceeds were donated to the Rocky River Assistance Program. In 2011, the auctioned items raised thousands of dollars that were disbursed for scholarships and to local organizations. Click here for a list of the 2011 Sitting Pretty Beneficiaries.
The Women’s Club currently does not have another Sitting Pretty event scheduled, but we do hope to bring it back in the future!
