Each year the RRWC raises money by holding our annual Holiday Home Tour. Profits from this event are distributed back into our community as gifts to area organizations/causes/projects. We are so proud to announce the following recipients of our financial assistance for 2016:
The Rocky River Assistance Program will spearhead a new venture in partnership with the Rocky River City School District. Lunch will be supplied each day for Kindergarten – 5th grade students whose families are enrolled in RRAP. Because our public district does not offer a hot lunch option at Goldwood or Kensington, these students were not being serviced by any other program. We are thrilled to supply these much-needed resources.
Three college students who have shown a demonstrated commitment to our community will receive $1000 book/supply scholarships.
Our Village Project, a not-for-profit organization that serves residents of Rocky River (and other west-side suburbs) who are battling cancer by supplying complimentary, home-cooked, healthy dinners will receive a commercial-grade food-processor and other professional equipment.
Camp Cook, a fun, alternative camp experience at Kensington Intermediate School for students who are unable to attend Camp Fitch was fully funded.
A Boy Scout project in which the State of Ohio flag will be displayed at Beach School was fully funded.
In addition to the above ventures, our club was able to grant significant financial assistance to the following:
Elle’s Enchanted Forest, Rocky River United Methodist Nursery School, Rocky River Adult Activity Center / CCBDD, Rocky River Meals on Wheels, Rocky River Presbyterian Nursery School, SocksPLUS, Rocky River Health Center, St. Thomas Lutheran School, Rocky River Education Foundation, Rocky River Little League, Recovery Resources, Rocky River Early Childhood PTA, and Connecting for Kids
